Laura J. Lewis Thayer, is a Jungian Analyst Diplomate, ISAPZurich, and an East Asian Medical Practitioner. Laura practices privately in both fields in the Pacific NW, and lectures internationally. With a background in dance, Laura brings embodiment to her teaching work, while dropping into the archetypal depths to discern something of, in Jung's words, "psyche's bridge to the future."

ETHICS IN THE SPIRIT OF THESE TIMES
A DEEPENING CONVERSATION
In times of great chaos an ethical standpoint is pressed more firmly upon us. Collectively and individually we are called to surrender old ways, and to grow into awareness that gives rise to a different way of living in the world and within ourselves. This process of change begins within and is guided by archetypal movements, reflected in the 'Spirit of the Depths.'
Using Jung's Constructive standpoint, we will take a snapshot of current world picture to discern the "living meaning" of these times, with an eye towards "psyche's bridge to the future." Laura Lewis Thayer presents in a graceful balance an exploration of the threats we face and how they came to be, with the profound resources available to humanity to guide our way to a more beautiful and equitable world.
Through a combination of lecture, experiential reflective exercises, and group discussion, you will gain tools towards practical application in personal and professional life, and be shown an active working model for institutional and social change.
Learning Objectives
Consideration of the ‘points of intersection’ between inner psychic processes and external collective realities, and the ethical obligations involved.
Working from a constructive standpoint to perceive “psyches’ bridge to the future”
Reflections on the archetypal undercurrents of the present age and what they might be striving towards.
Reflections on ethical boundaries in times of collective crisis
Insight into the roots of unethical biases that lead to racism, sexism, ecological, economic, and other forms of social injustice and othering.
Gain practical tools for use in one’s personal life and professional life, with an eye towards institutional application in support of a more equitable world.
